Karachi: In several parts of Karachi, around 140 casinos are established which annually earn millions of rupees. The central locations of the casinos are established in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Clifton, Landhi, Machar Colony, Agra Taj Colony, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Sohrab Goth, Old City Area, Korangi, Ibrahim Hyderi, New Karachi and Rehri Goth, say the sources.
According to the sources, the established casinos are backed by several police forces. While extortion earned through them, is source of income for many of the political parties. Police forces are involved in extortion activities, earned through these places. [alert style=”white”] Gambling has been observed in these areas through Satta Parchi, Bond Parchi, Ghori, Charghi, Chakka, teen Patti, Maang Patta and cricket playing. [/alert]
Sources have revealed of the extortion demands by several SHO’s appointed by the political figures in the police department. Every week, million rupees are being earned from Shah Faisal Town, Malir Town, Bin Qasim town, Gadap Town, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town, Landhi and Korangi towns. The east zone SSP’s however are deprived of the share.
Several specified men have been employed by the police personnel to collect extortion amount from respective locations.

Almost in every part of the widely spread city, the black business is run. It is saddening to learn that the forces deployed to maintain law and order situation in the country are themselves the culprit behind the wrong doings.
