160,000+ arms licenses Issued in KPK Since PTI Govt

KPK issued arms licensesPeshawar: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has issued almost 160,000+ arms licenses in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) in the period of two years as PTI has been ruling in KP since 2013. According to the secretariat of provincial Home and Tribal Affairs Department to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, licenses of arms have been issued in almost 25 districts across the province but provided no details regarding the license holders.

The data revealed by Tribal Affairs Department also said that 66,000 licenses have been issues in Bannu district, 11,642 licenses issued in Peshawar, 8,009 licenses in Kohat, 7,721 in Mardan, 6,452 in Swat, 5,584 in Karak, 5,285 in Charsadda, 5,705 in Swabi, 5,380 in Dir Lower, 4,566 in Manshera, 3,218 in Malakand, 2,836 in Dera Ismail Khan, 1,541 in Battagram and 3471 licenses issued in Abbotabad. Whereas Nowshera received 2,429 licenses, Haripur got 4,221, Buner 2,883, Hangu 1, 763, Tank 2,485, Shangla 2,902, Lakki Marwat 3,679, Torghar 1,263, 1,103 licenses issued to Kohistan.

However, member of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Sobia Shahid claimed that licenses of non-prohibited arms have issued by deputy commissioners but no individual license has been issued by Tribal Affairs Department. In this regard, the department replied that we are ready to show the data to the PML-N’s politician.
