Multan: Ansar Burney, leading Pakistani human rights and civil rights activist said that if the evidence of innocence of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui is given then he will legally fight for her freedom. While talking to the media at the press club of Multan he said that the people don’t know the facts about Dr Aafia Siddiqui as she will not release by this demonstrations and acts.
The Chairman of Ansar Burney Trust International, Ansar Burney has requested political parties, politicians, NGOs, Aafia’s relatives and public in general to assist and help Ansar Burney Trust in collecting evidence against Dr.Aafia Siddiqui. Earlier, the Ansar Burney Trust International requested the Indian High Court and government to release and give stay in India or send Pakistani national Mrs Nuzhat Jahan back to Pakistan.
Ansar Burney believed that innocent Pakistani should be released like Taliban; Ansar Burney has said that if Dr Aafia Siddiqui is innocent then she needs a free and fair appeal in the US court. Burney appealed to Government that Dr Aafia Siddiqui should not be sentenced to death as he is against of this decision due to the current law and situation. He further added that he does not want to issue any statement for dirty politics but would like to help her practically.
