Aafia Siddiqui Sister Challenges Pervez Musharraf for Election 2013

Karachi: Doctor Aafia Siddiqui’s sister Dr Fauzia Siddiqui has announced to contest election against former president Pervez Musharraf, private TV channel reported. According to details, President of All Pakistan Muslim league (APML), Musharraf is willing to contest election from Karachi’s National Assembly seat NA-250. After this update, couples of religious parties are going to support Fauzia. No response has been come from APML but critics are saying that this update has shocked APML members.

NA-250 (Karachi-XII) Interesting Facts:

In 2008 General Elections, Khush Bakhat Shujaat won from this seat on Muttahida Qaumi Movement Seat. On other hand, PPP’s Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig was remaining on send with close margin. This seat has contains posh areas of Karachi like Clifton and Defence. Jamaat e Islami has also strong following in this area but PTI has also got good following of youth in this area.

According to media reports following famous candidates will contest election from this seat.

2. Naimatullah Khan (Jamaat e Islami)
3. Khush Bakhat Shujaat (MQM)
4. Dr. Arif Alvi (PTI)
5. Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig (PPP)
6. Dr Fauzia Siddiqui (independent)

It’s worth mentioning here that Jamaat e Islami and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf can withdraw their candidates in support of Dr Fauzia Siddiqui. It’s too early to say something about final list but things will clear in couple of days.
