An Oasis Of Uber Auto Luxury – Automobiles

expensive cars pakistanEarlier this year, Saeed Abdul Ghafour Khouri, an Emirati businessman spent, $ 14.3 million (Rs 110 million) for the most expensive license plate in the world. And while shelling out millions for a vanity plate, soon to be adorned with Swarovski crystals as it tags a Ferrari or a Bentley, is something that is now expected of rich Arabs, one look at the cars on the streets in the UAE will have you nodding in agreement as to why it is perfectly acceptable to do so.

Here are some of the most expensive supercars in the UAE:

  • Bugatti L’Or Blanc: out of the 300 L’Or Blancs that were ever produced, the one sold to an anonymous UAE businessman is deemed the most expensive car in the world at $2.4 million (Rs 230 million). Coloured in a deep royal blue, the car is notable for its use of porcelain in its wheel badges, fuel doors, oils caps and caviar trays in the cabin.
  • Bugatti Veyron Super Sports: the UAE wouldn’t be what it was if it didn’t also have the world’s second most expensive carvalued at $ 1.8 million (Rs 170 million). Called the car of the Decade (2000-2009) by top Gear, the veyron is noted for its aerodynamic design which resembles a bull and allows it to reach a top speed of 430 km/h – making it the fastest street legal car in the world.
  • Enzo Ferrari: Only 399 of this, the most popular super car, were ever built. Rally car driver Muhammad Bin Sulayem owns one of them, while another has been impounded by the Dubai Police. There is no word on when the impounded car will be auctioned but, it is estimated to be worth $ 1-1.6 million (Rs 95-145 million).
  • Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe: Rolls Royces might have lost much of their visibility in recent years but remain the epitome of elegance. With legroom that rivals first calls cabins of an airline and one touch shut buttons that do away with the need of having to open your door, this Rolls Royce oozes class, and in the UAE it costs up to $1 million (Rs 95 million).
