Are You Searching Stress-Free Job?

I worked as a medical representative at a multinational pharmaceutical company for almost 11 years. Two years ago, I resigned due to a conflict with my first line manager; a new product was launched and my manager mentally tortured and pressurized me regarding sales.

I have searched for a job in other industries and have given several interviews but I only got one opportunity at a furniture company as a marketing officer. I worked there for two weeks and left it because it was far away from my home. Next, I worked at a marketing company and a real estate company, but I left because they did not pay salaries on time and had an unethical working environment.

In the last two years, I have not received a single interview call. Now I have no passion, enthusiasm or drive to work in sales and marketing because I am depressed. I feel like a castaway and have a negative frame of mind due to these failures. The biggest obstacle I am facing now are the age factor and not having the relevant experience.

Dear Industry Switcher, You are not alone; there are many people out there struggling to find a job, and then once found, struggling to be SUCCESSFUL in it. From your letter I see that finding a job is not an issue; you eventually do find one that matches your skills and experience. The issue is being successful in a job despite the stressors that accompany it.

If you expect to find ANY job that is stress-free, then please stop looking because such a thing simply doesn’t exist. Everyone faces stress in whatever job they do, including me! The trick is programme your brain to stop looking at potential stressors (things that can trigger the stress response) as impossible problems and difficulties, and instead to regard them as exciting challenges.

When you change your programming, you change your really. Stressors will transform into opportunities for growth and success. The good news is that you’re thinking and programming is in YOUR control, no one else’s. So get out there and embrace the CHALLENGES in your life. All the success!
