Ashtar Ausaf Ali Appointed as PM’s Special Assistant for Law

Nawaz SharifIslamabad: Ashtar Ausaf Ali has appointed as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s special assistant for law on Wednesday on the directions of Prime Minister as advocate Khawaja Zaheer was serving at this post previously. However Ashtar Ausaf Ali who has also worked as Advisor on Human Rights for Nawaz Sharif will serve as new special assistant for law with the status of Minister of State from today.

In 2011 to 2012, advocate Ashtar Ausaf Ali remained Prosecutor General of the province as well as he has also appointed twice as Advocate General of Punjab during 1998 to 1999, and 2012 to 2013 understand the provincial government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). He has played vital role in the representation of PML-N government during the period of 1990s as he came into limelight for playing an important role in the constitutional interpretation.

Ashtar Ausaf Ali who started private practice after working as Advocate General completed his BA in in 1975 from Forman Christian College after which he took admission in Punjab University from where he received his LLB Degree 1980 and became a member of the Lahore Bar Association. He was born on June 19, 1956 in Lahore, Pakistan and is the son of Judge Iftikhar Ali Sheikh.
