Asif Zardari, Nawaz Sharif Corruption Scandal Report

Corruption casesIslamabad: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has found that Asif Ali Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Yousuf Raza Gilani, Ishaq Dar, Chaudhary Shujaat, Pervaiz Elahi and may other influential political figures are involved in the cases of corruption. However NAB has submitted a report to the Supreme Court which includes 150 cases of financial scams of these high profile figure of Pakistan.

According to the details, a three-judge Supreme Court bench was headed by Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja on Tuesday where prosecutor of NAB Waqas Qadeer Dar presented report comprising on 34 pages. On the other hand, senior bureaucrats and individuals who are associated from the sector of banking and financial have also been included in the list who are also involved in several cases of corruption.

  • Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif
  • Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilana
  • Former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf
  • Former Prime Minister Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain
  • Former President Asif Ali Zardari
  • Former Prime Minister of Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani
  • Aftab Ahmed Khan Sher Pao
  • Former information minister Firdous Ashiq Awan
  • Hussain Haqani
  • Finance Minister Ishaq Dar
  • Former finance minister Shaukat Tareen
  • Former Pepco chief Tahir Basharat Cheema
  • Water and power secretary Shahid Rafi
  • Former chief minister of Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi
  • Balochistan sports minister Shah Nawaz Marri
  • PPP Senator Sehar Kamran
  • Former Balochistan industries and commerce minister Mir Abdul Ghafoor Lehri
  • Mian Mohammad Mansha

[alert style=”white”] Prosecutor Waqas Qadeer Dar told to the court that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif build a road worth rupees 12.5 billion in their Raiwand Mansion by misusing their powers during their earlier time. [/alert] He also told that there are several cases against Nawaz Sharif for illegal recruitment in the FIA department of NAB. With respect to the report, former president Asif Ali Zardari is also accused for having assets of 22 Billion as a former senator in 2001 as well as various cases have been filed against him for making illegal assets of billions dollars.

Similarly, Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians’ two former prime ministers Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Raza Pervaiz Ashraf are also facing charges for misusing of power in the illegal appointment of Tauqir Sadiq as chairman of Ogra. On the other hand, they are also blamable for alleged corruption in contracts for power plants. However Raza Pervaiz Ashraf is facing cases 8 cases illegal use of power and further 8 cases of corruption too.  Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervez Elahi are also accused for illegal beneficiaries of Rs2.4 billion with the help of exploiting their authorities.

Likewise, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar is also under investigation in three cases of making assets illegally. While Nawab Aslam Raisani is accused for illegal recruitments through his power. Whereas sports minister Shah Nawaz Marri is involved in the corruption of Rs8 billion. Firdous Ashiq Awan is facing transferrable property case and Mir Abdul Ghafoor Lehri is accused for buildup of assets of worth Rs8 billion. It has also mentioned in the report that Pepco chief Tahir Basharat Cheema and water and power secretary Shahid Rafi are blamable for providing rental power contract to different rental companies.

However, cases against these politician are under processing as SC has also summoned complete details till 13th July. It is worth mentioning here that Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja also passed a remark against corrupt NAB’s officials while saying that there are no columns of several details in the report.
