Karachi: Noor Mohammad alias Baba Ladla, he is tall, hands always at his back, 5’7 height, the look seems to be menace but his nick name Baba Ladla shows a sign of love and sweetness. He was made Rehman aka Dakait’s chief operational commander but after his own men turned on him, he believes that he is no longer in a position to continue the fight.
His real name is a Holy Noor Mohammad but he was known as Lyari’s corrupted guy. He was born in Kalri and got schooling from the government secondary boy’s school, but now he is known as Lyari’s gangster. As a reward, the government announced Rs3 million for Baba Ladla’s arrest. “What would the SSP do if I announced Rs5 million for the person who brought him to me dead or alive?” Baba Ladla mocks while stating to CID SSP Chaudhry Aslam.
A large number of his operational commanders were killed; Baba also got hurt as some of Baba’s commanders even joined his rival’s group. In comparison Uzair Baloch did not lose as many men as Baba Ladla. “Since I had joined the drug mafia, conflict with the police became a regular affair”, his father, Ghulam Hussain, hasn’t spoken to him for the past 10 years, who works as a labourer, Baba says.
Most people of Lyari believe that Baba Ladla is the hero of the Lyari; they don’t consider him as a gangster. Some people adore Baba Ladla with all their heart as they always support him in all ways.
