Barbeque in Garden under Fragrance of Plants

Home barbequed delights are mouthwatering and their aroma, drifting as it does on the slightest breeze, has noses twitching for miles around. It is not necessary to have a large garden to set up the essential barbeque equipment with a few comfortable outdoor chairs scattered around. Tasteful barbeque areas can be created on large balconies/verandahs, patios and flat rooftops.

There is a vast array of barbeque grills – of all sizes and to meet all pockets – available. These may be wood,  charcoal, gas or electric felled and intended to serve small, intimate parties, large scale events or if you opt for a portable barbeque – to get back to nature in the wilds or on the beach.

Creating an atmospheric barbeque spot in the garden – or elsewhere on the home premises – can be as arty, traditional or naturally green as you like, which is why comfort and privacy are as important as the sizzling steak, kebabs and barbequed vegetables.

If the most convenient barbeque spot in happens to be in an exposed garden or rooftop, creating that all important ambience is essential if the events you stage are going to be a success. The easiest and most cost effective way is to erect living screens of climbing plants interspersed, if possible, with evergreen, perennial shrubs and small trees suitable for large pot or container cultivation.

Climbing plants, including bougainvillea, grapevines, honeysuckle, jasmine, Passiflora, roses and Tecoma Grandiflora, as well as seasonal climbing green beans, peas and fragrant sweet peas, can be trained up and over any available support to provide a dense degree of privacy without interfering with air circulation. Small trees and shrubs suitable for growing in pots/containers – Acalypha, Dwarf Palms, dwarf lemons, Eranthemum, Jatropha, Murraya Exotica and Plumbago, top this extensive list – are doubly useful as they can be moved around to alter the picture at will.
