Karachi: A student of private university shot dead himself in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) few days back, according to police. The deceasedAsad Masood was 26-year-old and was living in Defence Garden, DHA Phase-I.
SSP South Munir Ahmed Sheikh said that it looks that Asad shot dead himself because of exam related stress. He was to give exam and preparations were not good of Asad. He added that it was stated that Asad had the ‘last chance’ to sit in the exam. Police officer said that watchman of the apartment saw pistol in Asad’s hand with bullet wounds in his head.
Family of Asad has not yet handed weapon the the police. After the incident the dead body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy.
This incident shows that many universities, colleges and schools creates lot of stress for students which results in different incident and death of Asad is one of them. Management of educations institutions must form a policy where students should not be burdened.
