Breakthrough Launches At The Geneva Auto Show

The 85th Geneva Auto Show – which concludes today – hes seen the launch of some of the most highly anticipated supercars of all time. Given the fact that the State Bank of Pakistan is advocating a liberal import policy for high-end cars (which may translate into reduced import duty on luxury cars) industry experts predict that it is likely that several of these cars will makes their way into Pakistan.

The breakthrough cars launched at the Geneva Auto Show include:
*The second generation R8 Coupe (four-wheel drive) is lighter and faster than its predecessor. The car’s centrepiece is a virtul cockpit – a fully digital, 3D enabled, 12.3-inch TFT display that shows driver navigation and mileage statistics. This Coupe has a 5.2-litre V10 engine in two variations; on generates 532 horsepower (hp) and the other 602 hp,making it the fastest Audi ever.

*The Vulcan (a limited edition car launched by British luxury automaker Aston Martin) is a hypercar with an engine that delivers 800 hp. Its most notable feature is a large rear-mounted spoiler with bespoke tail lights.

*The 488 GTB – the successor to Ferrari’s 308 GTB which has been a household name ever since it was featured on the popular TV show Magnum P.I.- features a turbo-charged 3.9 litre V8 engine with an output of 661 hp.
The Agera Rs, made by Swedish hypercar brand Koenigsegg,boasts of engine power in excess of 1,340 hp. Its production justifies the clamis of its founder,christian von Koenigsegg, that the Agera RS will be the fastest accelerating car ever to hit the road.

*The Aventador SV (which stands for ‘Super Veloce’ or Super speed’) has an engine capability of 750 hp. It was launched by italian giant Lamborghini as a successor to the Euro ll emission regulations. The Aventador SV is lighter and more powerful than its predecessor.
