At this event, Chaudhry Rashid’s lawyer Chaudhry Rashid Waseem Sajjad said while giving evidence that after the inquiry on the allegations and the proposed method, Chaudhry Rashid should be restore to his post. After the hearing, the court announce to restore Chaudhry Rashid by disposing the case.
However, Chaudhry Rashid was accused to misuse his powers as a secretary in the regime of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. Recall that last year President Mamnoon Hussain was removed Chaudhry Rashid from the post of PEMRA’s chairman while given the responsibility of acting Chairman to Pervaiz Rathore on the advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. While Chaudhry Rashid was in contact with Islamabad High Court against his dismissal.
After restoration, Chaudhry Rashid has taken charge of the PEMRA’s chairman again and has canceled all conversions which emerged in the period of his suspension. On the other hand, Chaudhry Rashid also assured that no discrimination abused will take place anymore in the organization.
