Coal Reserves In Pakistan Should Be Used Efficiently

Pakistan is one of the largest producers of coal in the world. Coal production varies by region wise like Sindh, Lakhra, Sonda, Thatta, Jherruck, Thar, others. Coal billion tones 184.623 Punjab Eastern Salt Range, Central Salt Range, Makerwal coal billion tones 0.235 Balochistan Khost-Sharig-Harnai, Sor Range/Degari, Duki, Mach- Kingri, Musakhel, Pir Ismail Ziarat, Chamalong coal billion tones 0.217 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa coal billion tones 0.091.

Saudi Arabia and Iran oil production put together 375 billion barrels, but only a single Thar coal production about 850 Trillion cubic Feet which is more than of Saudi Arabia and Iran production.

Dr. Murtaza Mughal President, the Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) said regarding coal which is worth USD 25 trillion that if electricity is produced through this energy than Pakistan will save almost four billion dollars per year.
