Code Pink Founder Interrupts Obama During His Speech

Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin (who went to Waziristan) interrupted US President Barack Obama on three times during Obama’s speech on drone policy and national security issues. Medea Benjamin is from the anti-war group Code Pink.

Medea Benjamin yelled from behind the cameras and shouted against drones attacks and pleaded to close down Guantanamo Bay prison. Medea Benjamin shouted “You are commander in chief! You can close Guantanamo today!” “You can release those 86 prisoners!”

It is pertinent to mention that Medea Benjamin along with other Code Pink members visited Pakistan on the invitation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan in October 2012 and went to Waziristan in peace rally and also stage protest against Drone Attacks in Pakistan.

Medea Benjamin also protested against Drone attacks in Washington when John Brennan, the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counter terrorism was addressing at the Wilson Center in early part of 2012.
