Cricketer Mohammad Amir Can’t Play World Cup 2015

Mohammad AamirLahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that banned fast bowler Mohammad Amir will not play World Cup in 2015. Speaking to the media, PCB Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmed said that if Mohammad Amir is back into domestic cricket this year , even though it’s not possible that he will play in February 2015 World Cup.

Subhan Ahmed said that the PCB was not hopeful about the ICC clearing the pacer to play international cricket until he completed his five-year ban, which would end around August 2015. However, the efforts to take him back to domestic cricket have begun early. PCB has appealed with the ICC to review the five year ban on the pacer on the basis of his age factor.

It is pertinent to mention that, the spot-fixing scandal broke out when Amir was 18 while Pakistan was touring England in August, 2010 which ultimately headed to the obligation of bans on Amir and his senior co-players Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif. With him, Mohammed Asif and Salman Butt also got bans of changing steps. However, they received little or none of the empathy as Amir received.

The PCB Chairman Najam Sethi said earlier that he is trying that Mohammad Amir would allow to play cricket, he was confident the youngster could be playing first-class cricket later this year once the ICC imposed its amended anti-corruption laws in June, he added. Ahmad said the idea behind the amended laws was that it would help a quicker return to international cricket for players serving long-term bans.
