No biggest democracy of the world or any religion can claim to be more democratic than Islam. The democracy of Islam is ‘Shuraiyat’ (consultation) Muhammad (PBUH) used to consult with His (PBUH) companion (Sahaaba) in different matters. Muhammad (PBUH) used to advice for the mutual consultation because consultation creates not only the unity of thought but various flaws and errors can be corrected.
Prior to establishment of Pakistan and during the Pakistan Movement, father of nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah used to consult with his companion in various matters. He was not thrusting his decision like dictator.
In the light of these facts, it could be concluded that Shuraiyat (consultation) or Islamic Democracy was one of the important factors in the formation of Ideology of Pakistan.
