Karachi: The most anticipated movie of the year, Dhoom 3 has set on its journey, setting new records in less time to what it take to the locally produced ‘Waar’ to dominate cinemas across the country. Dhoom 3 didn’t do good enough the first day like ‘Waar’ which earned up to Rs 11. 4 million, Dhoom 3 managed to set new record with a slower pace in a week.
In a week, Dhoom has earned Rs 123 million. No Pakistani movie so far has attained such immense response in the film industry. Within 9 days, Waar was able to make up to Rs 95 million, giving the Indian hit movie of SRK, Chennai Express a knock down.
With the winter vacations around the corner, the movie is expected to earn total of Rs 250 million in Pakistan. Waar movie by December 25 was expected to earn Rs 220 million, but Dhoom is likely to break off the Pakistani movie record by the time.
Waar movie is still being screened in several Atrium cinemas of Karachi and Islamabad, but the screening would not add up to the total earning much now, at this stage.
