Dog Sold For 20 Crore Rupees In China

Beijing: A Tibetan Mastiff an earliest breed of dog that looks more lion than doggy just went for nearly 20 Crore rupees at a Chinese “luxury pet fair” in the eastern province of Zhejiang. This is the highest price ever paid for a dog, according to report.

A Tibetan mastiff puppy has been sold in China for almost 20 Crore at a luxury dog show to a property developer who plans to use them for breeding. A Property buyer, an unnamed 56-year-old from Qingdao paid 20 Crore for the one-year-old golden-haired mastiff puppy. A second puppy of the same breed went for about 10 Crore, reported by Qianjiang Evening News.

The sale came at a “luxury pet” fair in Zhejiang, with the breeder boasting that these dogs “have lion’s blood and are top-of-the-range mastiff studs. “They have lion’s blood. One is black and tan in color, the other is red in color, and they are top-of-the-range year-old Tibetan mastiff studs,” said owner Zhang Gengyun.

The dog was 31 inches tall and weighed nearly 200 pounds, according to Zhang, who said the breed could be compared to nationally treasured pandas, hence the high price. This is not the first time a mastiff has gone for eye-catching amounts. Back in 2011, a Chinese coal baron paid highest price for a red mastiff puppy that was supposed the highest sale in the world’s most expensive dogs. But according to report a Tibetan Mastiff’s deal might just make this dog the most expensive of all time.
