I would like to take the opportunity to share with you the injustice which I am facing as an Assistant Professor, under TTS statues, at H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi. I joined HEJ in June 2013. After completion of successful 4 years, (CV attached). they give me termination order under post mid-term evaluation, which is absolutely unjust. In HEC there is no rule that the faculty member is terminated after three years of contract in fifth year, although I receive my gratuity letter of fourth year, that means according to HEC I entered in my second 3 years tenured After completion of the 6th year I am eligible for the post of the Associate Professor, but my illegal director Prof. Iqbal Choudhary did not like me, he is illegally director from last 13 years, according to government rule director must be appointed for the 3 years, he becomes a director without selection board and advertisement.
I have contacted Vice Chancellor (VC, Prof. Dr. Ajmal Khan) and Chairman HEC (Prof. Dr Mukhtar Ahmed) to take notice of this injustice. I am still awaiting the appropriate response from HEC while meeting the VC was worst experience of my life because of immoral behavior and language.
I am a HEC Scholar under split PhD program. A lot of money was invested on me by HEC to obtain advance training from abroad. I would like to state that I am also desperate to contribute towards overall betterment of the country through promoting higher education. However, by terminating my job contract, all that previous efforts of enriching me with knowledge shall be wasted. After going through the agony of termination threats, even after obtaining highest level qualification, I would like to state two things. Firstly, I request your kind self to direct HEC to critically assess the decisions, including mine and many others of our institute. I have no doubt that you will find serious discrepancies in this regard. The HEC should ensure that TTS rules should not be manipulate to victimize the faculty. In other case, all such higher education policies shall turn out to be counterproductive.
