Economic Planning And Development In Pakistan

Development planning plays a crucial role in the socio-economic development of a country. It aims at optimal utilization of the available resources in order to maximize social welfare. Pakistan has reached to the present stage of development through four and a half decades and during this period its economy has improved tremendously.

The nature and size of the national product has become more diverse and developed, and the new methods and techniques have been adopted. For an economy lacking in a number of natural resources, the transformation has brought Pakistan on the road to progress.

Although the inflow of foreign assistance helped finance rising development outlays, the burden was also borne by domestic savings, especially in relation to the low level of per capital income.
