Election Commission Will Reject Result If Women Vote Is Less Than 10%

KPK WomenElection Act 2017 gives Election Commission of Pakistan the right to reject election and order re-election if the votes from women are less than 10pc of total votes. But JUI-F and JI said that only 5pc women vote should be mandatory.

The members of sub-committee of parliamentary committee are having differences on election reforms and have failed to reach a consensus, disclosed Shazia Marri.

JI Tariq Ullah said that no one should be forced to take part in elections. It is also being said that the voting trend among women in KPK and FATA is rare, and as these are strong holds of JUI-F and JI they don’t want to accept a 10pc for election validation.
