Federal Government Announces 4 Days Eid-ul-Azha Holidays

Islamabad: Federal government has decided of official holidays from 15 to 18 October on account of Eid-ul-Azha. According to the summary submitted by Interior Ministry to the high officials, Eid ul Azha would be celebrated in the country on 16 of October 2013, Wednesday. Update:  The federal government has announced three-day holidays on the account of Eid-ul-Azha. The holiday will be observed from 15th October to 17th October.

The occasion would be celebrated on 16, 17 and 18 of October but an additional holiday on 15 of October is given so that people residing in far places can spend day with their family members.

It is pertinent here to mention that Pakistan Railway has announced of running four trains from Karachi, Peshawar and Lahore on the Holy occasion.

Eid ul Azha is a holy occasion for the Muslims when the Muslim hood revives the sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) on the commandment of ALLAH to sacrifice his son, Hazrat Ismail (AS).  After performing Hajj, the religious obligation is fulfilled.

Private Sector Offices will reopen on October 19 while Most of government offices will re-open on October 21.

Eid ul Azha falls on 10th of Zil Hajj and ends on 13th of Zil Hajj. In Arabic terms, the festival is referred to as, ‘festival of the sacrifice’.
