Former President and Co-Chairman of PPP Asif Ali Zardari has lately joined the social website Twitter. On Tuesday night, news pertaining to the ‘arrival’ of the democratic figure began widely circulating on online media, especially the social websites.
@AAliZardari is the twitter handle of Zardari. Bilawal Bhutto, son of Zardari and the PPP patron in Chief tweeted of the official joining of his father. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari also welcomed his father which further confirmed the news item.
The PPP leader follows 4 accounts on Twitter. One is their very own PPP account, other is that of Bilawal Bhutto, 3rd is that of Aseefa while Bakhtawar is the fourth one he follows.
Several people expressed their opinions. Some saw it a step to tackle the criticisms leveled against him on the social websites. While to others it is done to keep in touch with political members, the family and the supporters.
After Musharraf, Zardari is the second president to have joined the social website. Musharraf’s account earlier was managed by him personally but then was taken by his office. It is not confirmed whether Zardari maintains the account himself or it is done by someone from his staff.
