Fuller’s Earth, Magnesite And Marble In Pakistan

Fuller’s Earth: This is a clay material which is primary used in oil refining. Fairly large deposits of this mineral have been found in different parts of Khairpur District (Sindh), Dera Ghazi Khan District (Punjab) & Dera Ismail Khan District (NWFP).

Magnesite: Its deposits with reserves of about 30,000 tonnes occur near Nasai in Zhob District Balochistan. Low quality magnesite has also been reported from Sherwan area, Hazara District. At present, only the Zhob District magnesite is being exploited.

Marble: Large deposits of marble in different varieties and colours are located in the district of Chagai (Balochistan), Mardan, Swat and Gilgit. Valuable deposits have also been found in Kala Chitta Hills (District Attock) and in Muzaffarabad and Mirpur area of Azad Kashmir.
