“Government Wants To Implement Islamic Banking System in Pakistan”

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar Dar told that present government is taking serious steps for the promotion of Islamic banking. Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif wants to implement the Islamic banking in country. He was speaking at conference which was organized by World Islamic Finance Forum.

Ishaq Dar said that government has formed a committee for the promotion of Islamic banking. Islamic banking committee is doing great performance  from last 2 years that’s why Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) also made separate section for Islamic banking.

Government has also decided to form a new committee which views the progress ratio of Islamic banking.

SBP Governor Ashraf Wathra told that we will provide complete assistance to support the Islamic banking. We are implementing the Islamic banking with the help of Shariah Board. He stated that in 1990 Islamic banking volume was 150 billion but now reached up to 1800 billion. Owing to which Islamic banking is growing very fast in comparison of other countries.

Ishaq Dar praised the performance of Mufti Taqi Usmani and said that he is playing an important role at every in level Islamic banking system. Further he told that our economy is going on the right direction.
