Green Devices  For Technologies

Earth Day will be observed on April 22, so this is the perfect time to give ‘green devices’ a try. Not only are they extremely useful, they will also reduce your carbon footprint substantially. 1. 3D printers use cartridges that contain about 50% recycled plastic filament – similar to those found in plastic bottles – instead of regular carbon , which do not emit any toxic pollutants. These printers can be connected to devices via a specialized app and can print object up to seven cubic inches in size. Estimated price range: Rs 130,000-150,000 .

2. Hydroponic boxes allow you to grow plants without using soil and only require water. The boxes regulate and control environmental factors to ensure tha plants receive optimal light, even when placed inside; they also maintain temperature. You can grow flowers or seasonal vegetables in these boxes throughout the year, using five times less space, and in half the time , compared to conventional methods. Estimated price range: Rs 16,000-30,000.

3. Solar chargers are usually powered by a 5000mA battery and three solar panels. The battery requires up to five hours of sunlight to be charged, and a fully charged battery can recharge four smartphones or tablets. When placed in direct sunlight, they can recharge a smartphone within 90 minutes. Estimated price range: Rs 9,000-13,000.

4. Vehicle performance diagnostic devices track inefficient driving habits (including sudden speeding and braking) that reduce your car’s fuel efficiency and damage the transmission system; you will hear a warning sound when you drive in a manner that compromises fuel efficiency. These devices also run regular diagnostics on your car’s performance, enabling you to have your car serviced in time and avoid breakdowns. Estimated price range: Rs 10,000-15,000.
