Consumers purchase grocery items at a shop in Empress Market area on 11th July. Despite reduced transportation cost following cut of Rs. 8.5 per litre in diesel and Rs. 9 per kg in CNG prices in June alone commodity traders have not passed on any relief to consumers. Traders were quick enough to raise the grocery items prices when POL prices were increased.
A wholesaler at Dandia Bazar claimed that they could not extend any price relief to end users as 80 per cent of goods’ transporters have still not reduced their charges.
People from all over Pakistan have demanded that prices of food items, transport fares all should be reduced.
