Gulshan-e-Iqbal’s, Block 5, Karachi Quiet And Convenient

Block 5 is one of Gulshan-e-Iqbal’s prime residential enclaves. It is a relatively quiet neighborhood, easily accessible via three thoroughfares; Allama Shabbir Ahmed Usmani, Rashid Minhas and University Roads.

A defining characteristic… One of the other defining characteristics of blocks in Gulshan-e-Iqbql, is that commercial activity is limited to a few grocery stores, a home store, salons, eateries and a recently established furniture market. This ensures that the area is relatively quiet and not subject to traffic jams. Other amenities that constitute a comfortable lifestyle, be it educational institutions (Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology is the best known) , quality healthcare facilities (Samdani Hospital and Akhter Eye Hospital) and parks are available as well.

Everything is within reach… The lack of commercialization in Block 5 means that dinning and shopping avenues are limited. However, this doesn’t pose much of a hindrance because Abdul Hassan Isphani Roads are within a five-kilometre radius and there you wil find a choice of shopping and dining options, including countless departmental stores, as well a clutch of well-known eateries, ranging from the famous Bundoo Khan to the recently established Burger lab. KDA Market, a haven for unstitched fabric, footwear and jewellery, is a five-minute drive away.

The real estate take… Block 5 is almost completely built-up and vacant plots are not easily available. Residential property options include apartment in low-rise buildings and houses. Over the last  five years, many of the large houses located on the main roads have been repurposed to house commercial enterprises such as schools and salons. Property prices   increase by 18 to 20% every year, while rentals increase by nearly 10%.

In a nutshell… Due to availability of a range of a range of amenities, shopping and dining options just a stone’s throw away, Block5 remains one of the Gulshan-e-Iqbal’s most in-demand neighborhoods.
