Although protein rich eggs have long been hailed as ‘natural healers’, recent research has revealed that their shells too offer a raft of health benefits. 1. Healthy bones. Applying crushed eggshells on swollen joints help reduce inflammation and stiffness and repairs damaged muscles. This is particularly beneficial for people with rheumatoid arthritis, osteorthritis or scurvy. A teaspoon dried and pulverised  eggshells (composed of calcium carbonate) acts as a natural calcium supplement.

2. Rejuvenated skin. Eggshells facial masks made by pulversising them and adding an egg white reduce sebum (the culprit behind acne breakouts). Crushed eggshells when soaked overnight in diluted apple cider vinegar and dabbed on sun burnt, itchy or flaky skin helps reduce pigmentaion and improves complexion and skin textures. If touch have been fighting an unsuccessful battle against white and blackheads, make a paste of crush eggshells, a few drops of lemon and brown sugar and use it a natural scrub.

3. Quick healing. Long considered a natural antiseptic , applying a paste of ground eggshells mixed with white on minor abrasisons speed up the healing process due to presence of substantial amounts of proteins (the building blocks of our body).

4. Natural household cleaner. A mixture of crushed eggshells and Lemon scrubs away grime,  dust and rust from floors , windows and kitchen counters. Pouring the mixture into the drains will prevent clogging , while when sprayed in the garden, its act as an ammonia-free pesticides , keeping creepy crawlies , such as snails, slugs and cutworms, at bay- naturally.
