Hazrat Sakhi Lal Shahbaz Qalandar Urs to Observe on 5th June

Hazrat Sakhi Lal Shahbaz Qalandar UrsHazrat Sakhi Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s Urs (death anniversary) will observe on 5th June as Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s Urs held on every 18th of Shabaan (eight month of the Islamic calendar). A large number of pilgrims from all over the Pakistan attend the Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar every year at his Shrine which is located in Sehwan Sharif.

The devotees of Lal Shahbaz and fakirs used to visit shrine especially on his death anniversary in order to pay tributes to the divine and spiritual late personality as well as also make duas (wish) on his shrine by covering his grave with a green chadar (Shawl) which has Quranic inscriptions written with gold and silver threads. It is worth mentioning here that Urs of this year will be the 763rd Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in which high profile governmental figures are also expected to make their visit on the shrine.

The real name of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar is Sayed Muhammad Usman Marwandi as he was a famous Sufi poet who played an important role in preaching brotherhood among Muslims and Hindus. He has great fluent in several languages such as Persian, Turkish, Sanskrit, Arabic and Sindhi. He was born in Marvand on 1177 and died in the year 1274.
