How to Choose a Car Rental Agency in Pakistan?

Choosing the right car rental service can save you a bundle and ensure a hassle-free experience. Here are some tips regarding what to look out for: * Cost incurred. Compare the rates of the available cars on the agencies’ websites. Before conforming a reservation , inquire about hidden costs and aim to get an all expense-included deal. Daily rental costs usually range between Rs 3,500 to 5,000 (sedans) and Rs 2,500-4,000 (hatchbacks). Long terms rentals, ranging between a few weeks to a month, usually cost 20 to 30% less.

*The process. You will have to submit copies of driving license, a utility bill of your residence, your CNIC and proof of employment. Payments for the car rent and fuel, as well as a security deposit (ranging between Rs 15,000 and 20,000), are usually required in advance.

* Delivery. A few service providers charge between Rs 10 and 12 per kilometre to deliver the vehicle to your required pickup spot and to collect it. However, most agencies will ask you to collect and return the car and person to and from their offices.

* Insurance. Opt for a car rental service that provides a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) ;This is short-term insurance to protect you to paying the entire amount for damages in case of an accident. Another option is hiring a car from an agency that provides a low Maximum Liability Amount (MLA) – the maximum amount you are liable to pay in case of an accident.

* Pre-hiring checks. Conduct a pre-rental inspection of the car to ensure that the exact condition is noted in the reservation form; this will protect you from being held responsible for pre-existing damage.
