I am Sindhi But I am not a Wadera!!!

My ethnicity is Sindhi and I am not a Wadera.. I have a master’s degree, have been working from the age of 21 and have never gotten anyone but kidnapped. I moved to Karachi 8 years back and people made my life living hell just because I was a competent Sindhi. What should I have done? Started to hate every non Sindhi? No, I didn’t do that. Even at the age of 17, I knew that not every person is alike. And to judge someone based on their ethnicity is foolish.

But wait.. what if even I was a Wadera.. does it matter? Wadera is anyone who owns lands. Even Punjabi, Baloch and Pathan are waderas. They own Vigos and guards as well. From their lands we are getting our food. How many of us will leave our comfortable jobs and go live on farms? Just because of few would you blame all?

Sindhis are also doctors, engineers, lawyers etc. Khairpur was the hub of education at one time. We still have numerous public sector universities.

Sindhis are also politician, just like any other race. Some of them are also corrupt, like any other race.

The point is stop stereotyping. And stop asking justifications for your racial insecurity. No one is superior to another. Please read Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W’s last sermon again.

And just for your peace of mind, we Sindhi belong to one of the most oldest civilization called the Indus valley civilization. Hind is basically driven from Sindh (Aryans couldn’t pronounce s properly). We were dubbed as the most sophisticated and educated lot. Our irrigation system is still utilized around the globe. We evolved with time, always welcomed visitors, some of them who later became intruders.

We helped financially to make Pakistan possible and we welcomed the immigrants to our homes and hearts. We fought bravely whenever there has been a war (read up on Pir Pagara and Hur). And we continue to share our provincial goods with the country. Still across the globe we are part of senior management and our kids enrolled in top class universities. Our underprivileged people one of the most humble and hospitable you will ever come across. Our linguistics are extremely developed. We have our own alphabets. And just to add any one who lives in the province of Sindh is a Sindhi for me.

There are lot of things that need to be corrected but that problem exists every where. Why are Sindhi to be blamed only?
