Imran Khan Claims Are Pointless: Former CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry

Islamabad: Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Muhammad Iftikhar Chaudhry said that Imran khan claims on the records of the elections, 2013 are pointless as Supreme Court has zero to do with the records of elections. Iftikhar Chaudhry attended a function of the Islamabad Bar Association where he was talking to the media.

While talking to the media Iftikhar Chaudhry  told that no one has a right say about Judiciary and Defence as they are two vital organizations of the Constitution where they both perform significant roles independently. Former Chief Justice further added that magistrates are trying to maintain justice and integrity in the country and they will always try their best to avoid clashes between associations within the Constitution.

Former CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry took a chance to say that at the event that Supreme Court does not have any concern with the selection of returning officers of the Election Commission. It is pertinent to mention that Imran Khan criticized the former chief justice for given favor of Nawaz Sharif in elections through the returning officers.

The former chief justice said that Election Commission of Pakistan appointed returning officers for the 2013 elections not me, as was claimed by Imran Khan. Khan has also blamed Geo TV for announcing Nawaz Sharif’s victory before the time.  CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry added that the allegations thrown by the PTI chief did not deserve any response in this regard. As his all points regarding his claims are baseless and there is nothing any point in his claims.
