Imran Khan Fined Rs. 50000 For No Response In MQM Defamation Suit

Imran KhanKarachi: The chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has faced fine of Rs.50000 for not responding in Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) defamation suit. According to the details, the Sindh High Court (SHC) imposed fine on Imran Khan for remained absent from the court hearing on Monday in a defamation case which was filed by the MQM in 2013 against Imran Khan.

The 62-years old politician Imran Khan blamed Altaf Hussain for the killing of PTI Sindh senior vice-president Zahra Shahid after which MQM took action against him and filed defamation suit against PTI’s chief. Late Zahra Shahid was gunned down in Defence Phase-IV on 18th May, 2013 outside her home just before few hours when re-elections was about to start in some polling stations of NA-250.

Zahra Shahid who was commonly known as Zara Apa was serving as founding members of PTI as well as she was one of the member of Shaukat Khanum board. She was also involve in campaigning as she had played vital role in planning and decision making process of the party.
