Indian Army establishes Cantonments at Siachen Glacier

Indian army forces have established their cantonments at the Siachen glacier. While lust for getting the Pakistan’s thermal power projects has resulted in drilling of 1000 sites by Indians. The activities have resulted in serious climate catastrophes, leveling difficulties for the Pakistani forces.

The air base established at Siachen is vast then the one at Islamabad. Thousands of helicopters fly over the area. After every 15 minutes, new helicopter lands. The cantonment area is established by drilling the glaciers at various 1000 locations. Thousands of army men are deployed at the post to maintain the security conditions.

Thousands liters of engines are fueled annually. Drilling activities at Siachen glaciers may result in harsh casualties. Climatologists have alarmed of devastating cyclones and floods, hitting Pakistan, Bangladesh and India as a consequence. Doctor Amir Haider, expert spoke, ‘if within five to ten years, the challenges are not properly dealt. Then, we will have to face the consequences. ‘

Pakistan like other countries globally is facing climatic changes. As a result, acute water shortage resulted in less wheat production this year. Other edible items also did not grow much.

Much of the Pakistani army men are deployed in the region. But as revealed by the global institutions, the drillings at the site have affected the glacier. While nearby area of Pakistani cantonment at Siachen is leveled much with the snow as a result.
