Indian Elections Vs Pakistan Elections

button pressRecently I was surfing on internet about Indian Elections and got to know that around 1.4 million electronic voting machines will be used which are made in Hyderabad and Bangalore. Voters just to have to press button in front of candidate name or electoral symbol to register their vote on EVM, which electronically transfers it to connected secure control unit. These electronic voting machines also have Braille for blind voters.

For the first time in India voters can also choose “None of the above” option. This option is brought as activists said voters were forced to choose between several candidates with criminal background.

Meanwhile in Pakistan Imran Khan’s political party Tehreek-e-Insaf’s government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is insisting that biometric system should be used in the local government elections. However Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is not in a mode to use this technology.

It will be great for Pakistan if Election Commission of Pakistan follows what in India is happening i.e.  Electronic voting machines and “None of the above” option.
