Indus Valley Civilization

The most developed urban civilizations of the ancient world, known from Moenjodaro (Mound of the Dead) in Larkana district and Harappa in the Sahiwal district, flourished between the year 2,500 and 1,500 BC. The two cities lies about 650 kilometres apart but both shows homogeneous features of a common culture.

The cities give evidence of advanced industrial and business traditions of the time. These cities had no haphazard growth; on the contrary they were built with surprising regard to considerations not only of security but also of hygiene and orderliness. They also indicate a developed sense of town planning and decoration.
