Information On Pakistan’s Ocean & Coastal Areas

Pakistan is one of the largest sites of migratory birds. Every year more than 5.5 million birds migrate to Pakistan during winter.

Six Whales species, one Porpoise species and five Dolphin species occur in moderate numbers in Pakistan’s ocean.

Approximately 1000 plus marine turtles nest on the Karachi shoreline alone, which is one of the few sites in the world where this phenomenon can easily be observed.

Reclamation of the sea and indiscriminate construction on our beaches and coastal line will forever destroy the coastal treasures and upset the delicate ecosystem. Let us work together to preserve them.

The city of Karachi dispossess of more than 450 million gallons of untreated raw sewage and industrial waste into the sea every single day! This is destroying our coastal and marine environment and endangering human health.

Without treating the raw sewage and industrial waste, the unique species which inhabit our coast will completely vanish away very soon and will spread disease. Let us preserve them for our future generations.

Countries like Singapore, Thailand, Southern Sinai of Egypt and some African countries treat 100% of their raw sewage. If they can. Why can’t Pakistan?
