Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif approved Minister’s Youth interest-free loan scheme of Rs 3.5 billion as this youth scheme loan will be beneficial for 10 Lakh Pakistanis and 50% quota of this scheme will be allocated for women. Interest-free loan scheme will start in the third week of June.
PM Nawaz Sharif approved the interest free loan scheme on Tuesday while addressing over a meeting held to review the youth scheme loan. Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that microfinance schemes are factor of political and economic development plans while micro-credits are the reason of change for vulnerable segments and especially for women as such schemes promote positive economic activity. He further added that I believe that if proper guidance and financial support through micro-credit schemes and access of modern technology to be given to our young generation, they can play a positive role in the country’s development.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Chairperson of youth scheme loan Maryam Nawaz, Secretary Finance Waqar Masood and other senior officials were also present at the meeting. Chairperson of youth scheme loan Maryam Nawaz said that today we have fulfilled another promise of Prime Minister to the youth and Interest-free loan scheme of Rs 3.5 billion for young people has been allocated which will be distributed through the Pakistan Poverty Elevation Fund.
Maryam Nawaz briefed the Prime Minister in the meeting and told that youth will be trained by Skill Development Program which has been launched on May 12, 2012.
