Jahangir’s Tomb

Jahangir’s Tomb was built by his son and successor Shah Jahan. It is situated on the opposite bank of the river Ravi, almost six kilometres to the North-West of Lahore. A monument of distinction, it stands in a former garden, known as dilkusha garden, which was originally laid out for Jahangir’s celebrated queen Nur Jahan.

The tomb and dilkusha garden constitute a resort of surpassing beauty. The tomb is known as a fine ornament of Lahore. The tomb building has a wall of red sandstone richly inlaid with white and black marble and at each corner is a tall octagonal tower crowded by a pavailion.

The marble grave stone is inlaid with floral decoration, and with the ninety nine (99) attributes of GOD.
