Jamaat e Islami Holds Rally to Support Mohamed Morsi

Mohamed MorsiKarachi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Syed Munawar Hasan has said that the United States of America do not want the deliberations between Pakistani government and Taliban, adding that it wants drone attacks and terrorism in Pakistan. He expressed these views while addressing a rally organised by JI near Bait-ul-Mukarram Mosque against the military insurgency and dispels the Muhammad Morsi’s government in Egypt.

A large number of JI workers, supporters and sympathizers attended the rally. They raised banners and placards inscribed with “Pakistan Government must not accept the army leadership in Egypt”, “Condemning the army coup in Egypt”. The protestors also raised the portraits of ex-Egyptian President Muhammad Morsi and chanting slogans of against the military dictatorship in Egypt.

On the occasion, JI Chief said that the main aim of disqualifying the Morsi’s government in Egypt is to pave the way of Israel, as Egypt has a great significant in Arab World and United States and other western countries do not want democracy in Egypt. “JI thinks that the United States and its ally through its conspiracies have been created division in Arab World and army insurgency in Egypt is a part of such conspiracies”, Hasan added.

JI Chief said that the United States has played a vital role in the dismissal of Morsi’s rule in Egypt. He regretted that those countries which welcomed the military coup in Egypt were the close ally of Pakistan. However; he hailed the attitude of Turkey government which denounces the army rebellion in Egypt. “If United States will continue to work against the democratic governments in Muslim countries, then it will face the similar type of situation which had been faced by Britain and Russia in Afghanistan”, Hasan added.

He stressed upon the government that it should refrain itself by working on US agenda, adding that the government should make its own strategy over national issues. Hasan urged the newly-elected government to tackle the public grievances in effective way and the elected representatives should behave with the people with affection. JI Chief feared that if the GHQ and Mehran Naval Base were being attacked, then the Parliament may also be attacked by aggravated people. JI Karachi Chief Muhammad Hussain Mahenti, General Secretary Naseem Siddiqui also spoke on the occasion.

Naib Ameers JI Karachi Raja Arif Sultan, Barjees Ahmed, Information Secretary Zahid Askari, Director Public Relations Sarfaraz Ahmed and others were also present on the occasion. Later, the participants of the rally set ablaze the portraits of Egyptian Army Chief, newly elected President and Chief Justice of Egypt.
