Jobs In PIA, Steel Mills, WAPDA, SNGPL, SSGC – Joke Or What?

Recently a friend of mine told him that his cousin was doing a survey for his assignment of University. The assignment was to know that how many students studying in private universities apply for government jobs in Pakistan. to my surprise he told that the percentage of those students who apply for government jobs is very low and most of these apply in private companies.

The another sad thing was that Pakistan government institutions like Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Pakistan Steel Mills, Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) are never in the list of students to apply for job. Most of the students in survey said that there is no benefit in applying for job in these types of institutions without source.

It is very true that if anyone has family relative in these institution than he/she can get job or he/she may be affiliated to any political party. All these institutions are over staffed and most of the appointments are made on political basis. Where 1 employee is need, four are appointed and they are doing nothing and only becoming burden on the budget of institution.

I am hope that when the next government will come it will fire all those employees who are politically (or without merit) appointed and do nothing doing their job times except of raising slogan for their political parties.
