K-Electric Customers Gets Power Charges Rates Recued By NEPRA

k electric kescIslamabad: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has cut down the power tariffs by 7 paisa for the customers of K- Electric (former known as Karachi Electric Supply KESC), it has been learnt. For last couple of months, the power tariffs have fluctuated. 

Under the fuel adjustment charges, changes in fuel cost were observed.  In the month of July last year, the power cost was reduced by 3 paisa.  For the month of August it declined further by 43 paisa while for the month of September, the prices were increased by 39 paisa per unit. For the respective months, K- Electric sold out 1.42billion, 1.4 billion units and 1.39 billions of power supply.

In February, the next month, the power tariff adjustments will be sent to the consumers, says NEPRA. Tariffs for Multan Electric Power Company have also been announced by the body. For the following year, tariffs for the consumers, utilizing less than 50 power units shall remain unchanged.  50 paisa reduction shall be observed for the consumers using 1101 unit electricity. For the units ranging between 101-300 and 301-700, the power tariffs will increase by Rs. 1.25 and 25 paisa respectively.

Moreover, for the agricultural consumers reduction in the power tariffs by 80 paisa and 50 paisa for the commercial and industrial sectors has been proposed by NEPRA.
