Karachi Declared As World’s Cheapest City Again

KarachiThe biggest city of Pakistan Karachi has declared as world’s cheapest city all again according to the report of Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). Annual Survey which took place using New York City as the base revealed that Karachi has low cost of living as compare to 133 cities of the world as utilities, clothing and food prices are cheaper in Karachi. However Karachi has become world’s cheapest city for the second time consecutively.

On the other hand, Bangalore, Caracas, Mumbai and Chennai are also emerged in the list of five cheapest cities during the survey whereas Singapore, Paris, Oslo, Zurich and Sydney once again declared as five most expensive cities of the world as according to the last year’s report of EIU, these cities were also considered as expensive cities of the world. They editor of the survey named as Jon Copestake said in the report that cities which have declared as cheapest cities of the world have been emerging as cheapest cities for a long time even after local inflation is high there.

Although inflation rate in Karachi has also dropped during one year period as according to the Inflation Monitor of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) there is a decrease in food inflation and non-food inflation as compared to year 2014.
