Miss Saniya is a renowned politician in current Sindh Assembly whose tenure spans from the year 2013 till date. She is a famous politician, who has been a strong voice for the rights of women and freedom. She belongs to constituency PS-109 Karachi-XXI. As a politician she has worked well in making things better in her constituency. She has been a regular voice for the problems of her community at government doors. She is affiliated with left-wing political party famous for advocating liberal values, democratic principles and struggle against dictatorship, led by Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians.

Miss Saniya is currently serving as a Member of Standing Committee on Excise, Taxation and Narcotics, Standing Committee on Primary Health (BHU, HRC and Vertical Programmes) and Secondary Health (Rest of Health), Standing Committee on Services, General Administration and Co-ordination Department (Services, GPA, I&C, and IPC Wings), Standing Committee on Population Welfare. She is a social worker.
