Kohat University of Science and Technology Students End Strike

KUSTKohat: The student of Kohat University Science and Technology (KUST) has ended their strike after continuous 36 protesting days due to acceptance of their other demands by the university administration. The protest was started on 4th May in order to observe strike for the summer semester which was ended with the help of MPA Ziaullah Bangash who arranged peace talks with the administration and students in order to solve the matter.

Acting Vice-chancellor Fida Younis has accepted the demand of providing generators, Wi-Fi, chairs, bus service and mess facility. However the protesting students also boycotted examinations and also continued their protest after the summer vacations last week. In this regard, KUST PRO Zeeshan said that new schedule of examination will be announced today as final semester examinations could not be conducted due to students’ strike. He also cleared that students came up with the demand of start of summer semester when it was rejected by academic council of KUST.

Protesting students were also demanding transport facility but it could not be provided now due to security reasons, Mr Zeeshan added. It is worth mentioning that a large number of students of KUST left hostels on the request of annoyed activists of Kohat Students Federation on Thursday.
