Lahore Township Area On Chand Raat

As Eid approaches, scores of people will be heading to Township – one of Lahore’s largest and most populated residential areas – which has, over the years, also become a popular shopping destination. Past to present…. Until the late 1990s, Township’s main claim to fame was that it was a mid-range residential area with quite lanes and plenty of greenery; it became a prime choice for people who wanted the benefits of suburban living without having to pay a high premium.

Township has all the requisites that constitute suburban living: healthcare facilities , educational institutions and recreational avenues. With time, it has become fairly commercialized, mainly due to the transformation of the Township Main Market from a sleepy lane with a few grocery stores into a thriving, commercial hub.

The Eid Take…. If you visit Main Market on Chand Raat, you will find plenty of stalls where henna is applied , as well as those that sell bangles of every imaginable colour. Fruit and vegetable stalls, general stores, as well as those dealing in ready to wear clothing, fabric and shoes are also are also located there. After you are done shopping, stop at one of the many eateries that Township boasts of, be it Al-Zaiqa Biryani, Kundan Karhai , KPK Lounge or one of the many Chinese restaurants. If shopping is not your thing, catch a movie at Imax Cinestar Cinema.

The real estate take…. Township is divided into four sectors: A,B,C and D. Sector A mainly consist of gated housing communities which are relatively well maintained and secure. Sectors B and C provide a mix of mid-sized and large houses and Sector D has smaller houses. Commercial property is primarily available in Main Market in the form of standalone shops and retail space. Demand for residential and commercial property has increased by 10 to 15% in the last five years.

In a nutshell… A great place to spend Chand Raat.
