Low Rate Productivity In Agriculture Of Pakistan

The productivity rate of agriculture of Pakistan is comparatively lower than those of the other major countries of the world. In some cases it is one-fourth, while in few cases it is one-third of the major growing countries.

It may be mentioned here that the present productivity rate is much than those of seventies, eighties and nineties. Pakistan, in fact, has started to adopt a selective agricultural mechanization due to which the stagnation in agricultural sector has come to a break.

The symptoms of green revolution may be visualized clearly. Per hectare yield of main crops, particularly of cotton-seed, wheat and rice is consistently increasing since the last two decades. Output fluctuates from year to year, depending upon the condition of the harvests.
