Mahfooz Yar Khan Appointed President of MQM Legal Aid Committee

Mahfooz Yar KhanLondon: Senior lawyer and prominent politician Mahfooz Yar Khan has appointed as President of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Legal Aid Committee. According to the sources, a decision was taken during a joint meeting which was held under the presidency of MQM’s chief Altaf Hussain.

A meeting was attended by members of MQM Rabita Committee of Pakistan and London as well as senior Deputy Convener Nadeem Nusrat was also presented during the meeting. Rabita Committee also expressed deep concerned during the meeting over the unconstitutional and illegal arrests of MQM’s actvists, workers and leaders. On the other hand, Rabita Committee also considered several proposals regarding legal support of MQM’s arrested activists.

Moreover, Rabita Committee further discussed on the improvement and streamline of the system of legal aid of arrested men of MQM as well as also focused on the reconstruction of the MQM Legal Aid Committee. However former president of MQM Legal Aid Committee Naeem Siddiqui will serve as the Vice President of the committee as Altaf Hussain has also endorsed the decision of Rabita Committee.

[alert style=”white”]It is pertinent to mention that Advocate Mahfooz Yar Khan was associated with Awami Muslim League (AML) and was contesting for NA-246 by-polls this year. He withdrawn his candidacy in by-elections and joined MQM.[/alert]
